My Education
My Work Experience
I grew up in Chesterfield, Va. It is a suburb of Richmond, Va. My experience is diverse and greatly varied. When i was a teen and in very early twenties I worked a variety of jobs and attended some college.Mostly construction type jobs.
My first business was an auto core business in Richmond, VA. I started when i was about 20. I bought used auto parts and resold them to businesses that would remanufacture them. After about 6 months of doing this i realized i hated working by myself all day and that this business was going to be very difficult to grow. So I gave up on that.
As I was determined to be my own boss i started my second business as a residential repaint contractor called R & B Painting. I grew that business into one of the biggest paint contractors in Richmond, Va. Spending about a 100k a year in advertising per year and grossing around 1.4 million at its peak. Having almost 20 employees. Which is considered huge for a painting business but still of course a business you can only grow so big and a type of business you could never really sale to anyone. I operated this business for about 9 years from 1994 to 2003 and went back to school at night to study business. I started a third business around 2000. It was a maid business. This business lasted less than a year. I poorly managed it and didn't really even have the time for it as my painting business was doing great. I ended up losing about 50k dollars and closed up shop but learned some very valuable lessons.
Tired of painting houses and sick of never taking a vacation for longer than a weekend I read a book "Bringing Down the House". It is a book about blackjack card counting. So i sold all my business equipment. Ladders, Vans and everything else starting counting cards in casinos. I would travel to nevada, mississippi and other places. After about 9 months i grew sick of sitting at a blackjack table all day and staying in hotel rooms. So i started studying poker. More specifically No Limit Texas Holdem and started playing poker for a living. I studied the math and psychology of poker and started playing poker for a living. Online poker that is. I set up my own server to start collecting data at certain poker sites using alot of third party software developed specifially for online poker. I did this for about 9 years even developing my own personal software to assist me. I made very good money at this for the most part and lived in the philippines for about 5 years. One day in May 2011 I woke up to find out all poker sites money for american players were frozen and that was the end of that. Sad Sad Sad.
